Terms of Service

Highfive helps you find things happening around the Twin Cities. We gather event listings from venues, organizers, libraries, and other public sources, organize them, and add our own descriptions and recommendations.

We are a guide, not an organizer or a ticket seller. We don't run these events, we don't sell tickets to them, and we aren't affiliated with the venues or organizers listed unless we explicitly say so. When you buy a ticket or attend an event, your agreement is with that organizer or ticket seller, not with us.

This is the most important thing on this page, so we're putting it plainly.

Event details on Highfive come from third parties and change constantly. Times shift, prices change, shows sell out, and events get cancelled or postponed, often without the original listing being updated. Some listings don't publish a start time at all, and some end times shown in the app are estimates rather than published information.

Always confirm the details with the venue or organizer before you make plans, travel, or spend money. Treat what you see here as a starting point for finding something, not as a guarantee that it's happening as described.

We work hard to keep listings accurate, but we don't warrant that any listing is correct, current, or complete, and we're not liable if an event turns out to be different from what was shown. See Sections 8 and 9.

Some summaries, descriptions, and search responses on Highfive are generated or edited with the help of AI. We review our sources and design these features carefully, but AI-generated text can still be wrong or misleading. Don't rely on it as the final word — Section 2 applies here too.

You'll need an account to save events or set preferences. When you create one:

• Give accurate information and keep your sign-in method secure
• You're responsible for activity under your account
• You must be at least 13 years old. Highfive lists plenty of events for kids and families, but accounts are for teens and adults.
• Don't impersonate anyone or create an account on someone else's behalf without permission

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Please don't:

• Scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or systematically extract our listings, descriptions, or database
• Use automated tools to access the service, except well-behaved search engine crawlers
• Republish or resell our curated content as your own product
• Try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts
• Use Highfive for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone

We put real work into gathering, cleaning, and describing these listings. Enjoy them, share links freely, but don't take the whole catalog.

Third-party content. Event names, descriptions, images, and other material from venues and organizers belong to them. We display it to help people find events. If you're an organizer and want a listing changed or removed, email hello@highfivemsp.com and we'll handle it.

Our content. The Highfive name, design, curation, our written descriptions and recommendations, and the organization of the guide belong to us. Personal use is fine; the restrictions in Section 5 apply.

Highfive links out to venues, ticket sellers, and organizers. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, their practices, or anything you buy through them. Their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave us.

Highfive is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information in it is accurate or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost time, money, or opportunities, arising from your use of Highfive — including where an event was cancelled, sold out, mispriced, or listed at the wrong time.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Highfive is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months (which, for a free service, is likely zero) or one hundred US dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

We're actively building Highfive, so features will change, and some may go away. We may update these terms; if we make a significant change we'll update the date above and give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Highfive after a change means you accept the updated terms.

You can stop using Highfive and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we need to for legal or security reasons.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you agree to that venue.
